The source of the name is in Masechet Shveet and it was chosen because it is near to Elaniya village wich used as a base to the settlement and after the name of Rabbi Meir Bar-Ilan who was one of the leader of Mizrachi movement.
Sde-Ilan is located near rode nu. 65, between Afula and Tiberias. 3 km. south to Golani junction and close to three citys: Nazareth, Afula and Tiberias (as 15 km. to each city).
The moshav is 200 meter high above the sea level.
